Plan costs use US monthly prices checked July 17, 2026; taxes, regions, annual billing, premium seats, and future changes are not included. Savings are estimates based on your inputs.

How the math works

The calculator converts three inputs into a monthly estimate. It multiplies the hours you expect to save each week by 4.33 (the average number of weeks in a month), then by your hourly rate and team size, to get the value of that time. From there it subtracts the Claude subscription cost — Pro at $20/month, Max from $100/month, or Team Standard at $25 per user per month, using US prices checked July 17, 2026 — and shows what remains as net savings. ROI is that net savings divided by the subscription cost.

How to pick a realistic hours-saved number

The hours-saved slider drives the whole estimate, so it deserves a moment of honesty. Rather than guessing, use this quick method:

  • Track one representative week of your usual work before touching the sliders.
  • Count only tasks Cowork could genuinely finish with light review, such as file organization, report drafting, data extraction, or document templating.
  • Subtract the time you spend checking and correcting its output.
  • Start with 2–5 hours per week if you are unsure, then adjust after a real week of use. The default of 10 suits people whose week is dominated by repetitive document work.

Two worked examples

Solo freelancer: $75/hour, 10 hours saved per week, on the Pro plan. That is roughly 43 hours a month, worth about $3,250 at that rate. After the $20 subscription, net savings land near $3,230 per month — about $38,700 a year.

Five-person team: each person saves 4 hours a week at a blended rate of $60/hour, on the Team plan. Combined, that is about 87 hours a month, worth roughly $5,200. The $125 subscription leaves about $5,070 in net monthly savings — roughly $60,900 a year.

The exact figures update live as you move the sliders, so treat these two scenarios as reference points rather than results.

What this calculator does not include

  • Setup and learning-curve time during your first week or two.
  • Time spent reviewing, correcting, or re-running outputs.
  • Regional pricing, taxes, annual-billing discounts, and usage-based variation in Max plan pricing.
  • The assumption that every saved hour is redeployed to valuable, billable, or strategic work — in practice, some of it becomes meetings.

Frequently asked questions

Which Claude plan should I choose?

Pro suits most individuals, Team fits organizations that need several seats and shared administration, and Max is for heavy daily usage. See our pricing overview for current details. The calculator uses US monthly prices, so pick the closest match to your region.

Does the calculator store or send my inputs anywhere?

No. Every calculation runs entirely in your browser. Your hourly rate, team size, and plan choice never leave the page.

Is this ROI number a guarantee?

No. It is a planning estimate that assumes the saved hours convert into valuable work. Treat it as a way to frame the decision, run your own trial, and revisit the inputs after a month of real usage.
